'She literally quit over pizza': 63-year-old part-time worker hands in resignation because HR ordered everyone pizza on one of her days off

There were many aspects of this workplace environment that would have justifiably enraged this part-time employee, but the one thing that really took her over the edge was the pizza party HR threw without her.

Most employees bemoan the fact that their managers would rather throw a pizza party for everyone to boost morale rather than, say, give them well-deserved raises. However, for Sues, it was the pizza that she wanted. 

Sues had been working at this salt production facility on Mondays through Wednesdays. As a 63-year-old employee, she wasn't given many of the labor-intensive responsibilities that other full-time coworkers had. Still, people seemed to like her enough until the human resources department made the incorrect judgment call to schedule a celebratory pizza party on Thursday, one of her days off.

Sues could not get over the fact that other employees got to enjoy all that free pizza while she wasn't working. In what would end up clearly being a reactive choice, Sues put in her two weeks' notice… all because of the pizza party.
