Wolf 93 1d ago slow blink to him, get on the floor, try treats (in the long run they are not good to feed often but to build trust they're great) 599 ◇ Reply

putterandpotter • 1d ago The long slow blink - I do two in a row - is golden. I won over the one holdout barn cat that came with my acreage (the others were pushovers who capitulated early to kitty treats). It's when you get the blink back you know you're in. It's a language cats understand. Now he runs over to be pet every morning when I feed him. 279 Reply ...

putterandpotter • 7h ago Of my five, 3 were very easy to win over. Of the other 2, one came around after several months - now he runs to be pet, tries to swot me after a couple, but then comes back for more. Big goofball. And the last holdout took a year, she will let me stroke her, hops a bit like it's a totally new and startling experience and we've never done this before even though we did it yesterday....and then come right back for more. It may go without saying they are all orange and a bi

EurekaGears • 1d ago Can confirm, saw a stray cat across from my house once. Shook a bag of treats in its direction, threw some at it (and some may or may not have actually hit his dumb little head) and a day later he was at my door and very friendly. I miss that little shit a lot. 121 121 Reply
