7-year-old dog suddenly starts turning white, she shows her precious pupper's progress into a sweet cookies 'n' cream doggo over only 2 years

Every little thing that happens to our doggo, we immediately expect the worst. You may call us crazy, but we go to the vet quite often just to be told that everything's fine. It's a bad habit, but we just want to make sure that there's not something we're magically missing that would result in a premature departure between us. So, needless to say, if our doggo randomly started growing white patches in their fur, we would also start freaking out! Especially if the dog was already 7 years old. There shouldn't be any surprises around that age!

It turns out that the reason is far less sinister (and infinitely more pawdorable) than the pawrent of this doggo could have guessed - her canine simply started to develop vitiligo. Vitiligo is a long-term condition where your skin and hair lose their pigment and turn completely white, but the good news is that not only is it pawsitively cute, it's also completely painless.

  • Over the course of two years, her pupper progressed from beautifully black to a sweet cookies ‘n’ cream doggo. Just when you thought it wasn't pawssible for dogs to get any cuter, they go and do something like this! We hope it hasn't affected her self-confidence, because she's beautiful on the inside and out!

  • We hope it's just a coincidence that she looks sad in her final picture. Do you think the other dogs notice that she's different? We hope not. Do you think she notices that something is different? That's actually a very interesting question.

    Roland 7800 I have vitiligo too (I am not a dog), but for other commentators there is no pain or discomfort, it's just when your skin loses its pigmentation and thus color. This also makes your hair follicles grow white wherever your "patches" of discoloration are.

    scared something was wrong, but it turned out it was just vitiligo! Now he's 11 and he still has the same white spot that appeared years ago. He's unique and I wouldn't have him any other way
