'I've always wanted a cat': Truck driver finds floofy black kitten alone at truck terminal, they scoop her up and bring her to their family's house for a purrfectly thankful Thanksgiving weekend

Good things come into our lives in the most meowsterious of ways. And by "good things", we obviously mean kittens! The Cat Distribution System has been hard at work recently, and its most current delivery has been this floofy black kitten to a truck driver and his partner. They found her all alone at a truck terminal, and despite not knowing anything about cats or being financially prepurred for one, they decided to take her with them. Honestly, in the end, none of those things matter when it comes to cats. They're fairly intuitive to take care of. All you need is love to give, food to feed them with, and the willingness to put up with their shenanigans.

But, with money being tight and Thanksgiving coming up, this trucking couple wasn't sure what to do with their new feline friend. After much deliberation, they decided to take their kitten with them to their family's house over Thanksgiving, where we're sure she will get a purrfectly warm welcome! Plus, what kitten doesn't dream of being surrounded by tasty food and hoomans who adore them?

This is a reminder for all of us to remember how thankful we are for the cats in our lives. They found us at just the right meowment, and they changed our lives furrever. It's the purrfect time to be purrfectly thankful. Read more of their story below!

  • What do you do? You get a litter box, some food, and that's about it! Don't even bother buying toys. Our cats' favorite toys are literal pieces of trash. Shoelaces, crumpled up balls of aluminum foil, pipe cleaners, anything of that nature. Even bottle caps. The only other thing you need is a whole lot of patience!

    Although money is tight, i managed to get her a $7 bed and she found it comfy pretty quickly. I went to dollar tree to get her some food, an aluminum pan and kitty litter for a makeshift litter box. She uses it on her own without any help

    from me, so thats great! Anyway, we gave her a bath and she had no fleas so thats another win. Sometimes she likes to sleep in between my bf & I while we cuddle lol. Sometimes around 1- 3am, we will feel her walking on our feet and face or climbing on our curtains. I feed her 3x a day. Every time a half can of wet cat food. I'm gonna get her some solid food today from a truck stop.

  • What a smart baby! Clearly the cat feels safe and loved, or else it wouldn't be acting in such a tame way. If the kitten was uncomfortable or upset, it wouldn't be eating, using the litter box, or being so nice with its new pawrents. We'd say they're off to a great start!

    We still don't know what her breed is, but she has a vet appointment on Tuesday. I'm not sure how much everything will cost or what she needs. Money is still tight but i will make sure she gets the shots she 100% needs and then i can get her the rest in about 2 ish weeks most likely.

    Also, she loves to play, climb and scream when im about to feed her. One time my bf and I were eating, so she thought it was her time to eat as well (she just ate 45 minutes prior) and sat by her bowl waiting...and then fell asleep (last picture)

    1. Little plastic springs. We got ours from the local dollar store, you could probably use plastic hair curlers of something of the sort if they don't have pet toys in stock. My two girls ADORE their springs.

    3. Scratching posts can be made using any corrugated cardboard and some standard school glue. Just cut out the circles, stack them on top of each other, and glue them together. Alternatively, cut it into strips, leave the corrugation top/bottom, glue it

    • Bright-Walk-212 11h ago Petco has vaccination clinics so would check near you! They're called Vetco I believe and the vaccines are so much more affordable if money is of concern. Additionally, many ASPCAs will neuter or spay at a greatly reduced price if you call and explain that you found the cat. Hope this helps!
