'[He] showed up in front of my house and never left': Person who recently lost his dog befriends a sweet stray cat; both take time to open up, but eventually heal each other's hearts

There's something inevitably sweet about former stray cats. Especially if they are grown cats, who are able to remember the hardships and difficulties of living in the streets. Cats who grew up waiting for the Cat Distribution System to pick them up can live a pretty harsh life until that ameowzing moment comes. And when it comes? It's like a glorious relief, full of soft meows and gentle paws. But mostly two hearts, feline and human, that get to connect for life.

While some cats know to ask for help and only need the right timing served by the CDS, some cats take more time to open up and accept the love and affection that come with belonging to a home, a person. But when a stray cat finally opens up and allows the human to actually give them the affection they deserve, it's not only a world healed for the cat who gets adopted - it can be equally as healing to a person's heart. Some cats and people heal each other's hearts, and this one cat mentioned below is no different.

You see, losing a pet is hard, we all know it. And this one person recently lost their dog. There's a pet hole in his heart that won't ever fully heal - nothing can replace a beloved pet who passed the rainbow bridge. But having this sweet stray stroll right up to his porch, even if he was not ready to receive pets and affection, was the first step in healing both - the person's heart, and the cat's lack of home. We think the CDS sent the cat for this person, not the other way around. This is why he needed time to show the full feline scope of affection.
