New Stranger Things Posters Tease the Final Battle in the Upside Down

Stranger Things has officially entered its endgame and Netflix just dropped a fresh batch of character posters to remind us that, yes, we are absolutely not emotionally prepared for what's coming. We've watched these kids since they were tiny Dungeon Masters with bowl cuts and now they're storming into the final battle like seasoned adventurers in the biggest DnD campaign television has ever committed to lore.

Season 5 Volume 1 set the board. Every mini figure is in position. The alliances are forged, the emotional damage is queued up, and the BBEG is practically licking his interdimensional chops. Some characters got upgrades, some new heroes joined the party, and some of our favorites are walking around with big neon signs over their heads that say "I'm not making it out of this alive." My money is still on Steve Harrington and Dustin taking the heroic sacrifice route and I'm already pre grieving.

Netflix is rolling this finale out in three parts. Volume 1 is already out. Volume 2 arrives on Christmas Day because nothing says cozy holiday vibes like trauma from the Upside Down. And the FINAL episode drops December 31 both on Netflix and in theaters so you can ring in the new year with nostalgia, heartbreak, and one last psychic nosebleed from Eleven.
