We wanted to put this post out there ahead of Christmas rolling in so that we can remind all you doggo lovers that a darling doggo is for life. And that with the years and time that go by, your canine child will not become less desirable as a companion; if anything, the relationship you share will deepen and age like a fine wine.

Which is why we made this list of sweet and spry senior doggos, especially seeing as this holiday season they are the ones who will be filling up the local shelters. They will be the ones who need a loving home to spend the rest of their days in. They will be the ones who will be most overlooked as new families search for sweet and small puppies to bring home. But these elder canines could not be a better and more appropriate option for any pawson considering adopting a dog.

  • We were not aware of this, but apparently once a fishing dog, always a fishing dog. There is no stopping this senior sweetheart from dipping her toes in the water and going after her favorite fish. Sure, she might not be as fast as she once was, but she is a whole heck of a lot wiser.
