Coworker gave me excuses for a bad Secret Santa gift for me but bought out our bosses' lists (stupid vent). I just needed to get this off my chest.

We did Secret Santa on Monday with a minimum of $30 and I got Christmas candy (when on our list we could specify what we DIDNT want and I said anything edible) and a work shirt (which obviously I don't

$8 lotion I had asked on my list and apologized, wasting my time telling me about how shes a little low on money and everything she did on the weekend and why she was too busy to get me what I had asked for.

I honestly didn't care that much, had low expectations for work Secret Santa as a whole so I just told her that I understood and it was nice of her to get me the lotion. This is a coworker I have to help a lot so I want us to be on good terms.

This same day, I saw her put Christmas gift bags on our supervisor, manager, and director's desk. I didn't think anything of it but my supervisor wasn't in until today and I had gone to talk to my supervisor when she opened her gift

and my coworker had bought out everything she listed on her Secret Santa list minus whatever her Secret Santa acctually got her. This atleast hit $100. I don't know exactly what she got our other 2 bosses but I heard them talking to our supervisor and saying she got them great stuff too.

It's just crazy to me that she couldn't do this for her Secret Santa and I'm someone who helps her a lot, but did this for our bosses who always overwork her.

photogfrog People are such weird creatures. She probably thinks you can't progress her in the role so she sucks up to management. I guarantee they don't care. Stop helping her.

OCessPool It's standard office etiquette that you do not 'gift up'. Managers and Supervisors presumably make more money, so it is illogical for lower level employees to give them gifts.

AJR1623 Honestly, she just sounds like a kiss ass. You're "just" an intern, so you can't do anything for her. Just my opinion.

VerdMont1 Help her no more. She pleads poverty to you and spends on others. She's a user.

Sudden-Possible3263 She shouldn't have took part in the secret santa if she had no plans doing it right
