'My life was changed in an undeniable way': Wholesome human rescues 5 tiny cuddle bug kittens from a dumpster and meowraculously finds them all furrever homes

Why is it that people always try to throw kittens in the dumpster?

Seriously, people, there are so many other places to put kittens. If you need some help, we'll name some of them for you: a crib, a couch, a bed, a chair, your arms, your shoulder, your friend's shoulder, your lap, a cardboard box, a blanket, a pillow, a cat carrier, and most importantly, a shelter or a rescue organization. In this day and age, there is no excuse to be dumping kittens in garbage cans or dumpsters. You have access to Google, which will tell you exactly where the nearest animal shelter is. 

We understand if you can't keep the kittens. Kittens are a huge responsibility! They are a lot of work, can destroy your house, and keep you up at night. But if you choose to give them away, at least have the decency of bringing them somewhere where they have a chance at a happy life; you owe them that much. Do you think they have a chance at happiness in a dumpster? We think not.

Luckily, this litter of kittens seems to be the exception. They were found by a wholesome hooman, who got them cleaned up and meowraculously found them all furrever homes. You're lucky someone was around to clean up your mess - next time, they might not be so lucky.

  • This is the cutest stage of kitten. Based on our estimation, they're about 1.5-2 months old. They're not quite mobile enough to cause a crazy amount of chaos, but they are starting to show their purrsonalities. You get all the benefits of having a kitten without any of the climbing zoomies (yet). If we had any more room in our house, we would take one in a heartbeat.

    ringwraith6 I get so pissed off when people do this shit. Late last spring, someone threw 2 kittens in my garbage can. I persuaded my daughter to take them. One required nearly $10k in medical care because of picking up a bacterial infection...probably because of the extremely unsanitary (as garbage cans tend to be) condition they were thrown into.

  • Would you pay $10,000 for a kitten's medical expenses that you picked up off the street? That's a tough question. On the one hand, if you don't do it, no one will. On the other hand, who has $10k just lying around for an emergency cat expense? We don't, that's for sure. We would probably do it because we wouldn't be able to live with the guilt of not doing it.

    NotSoFastLady Good for you. I partner with these types of places for work. The workers there are fans of ferral cats because they keep the rat population in check. Not the ideal life or environment but I see them there all the time. They seem to thrive in these environments.
