'So you're telling me I can't go home for Christmas?': Karen cat owner gets caught avoiding airline fees by sneaking two cats in one pet carrier, they refuse to let her fly

Traveling with pets can be a nightmare, and this lady just proved it.

One of the worst things about being a cat owner is traveling. Whether you choose to leave them at home or bring them with you, you're pawsitively stuck with some terrible choices to make. Leaving them at home means a period without them and their company, wondering if they're doing okay, and paying for a cat sitter who may or may not be competent or not. But if you choose to bring them with you, you have to deal with airline fees and extra reservations, rules that change according to each airline, and don't even get us started about making a makeshift litter box for the plane.

And yet, some people feel purrfectly comfortable taking a nonchalant attitude towards it, then get upset when they don't read the fine print, just like our Karen below. She booked her ticket, or her mom did (we're not really sure), but either way, neither of them paid the reservation fee for two cats. She put both cats in one cat carrier and attempted to board the plane with her two cats stuffed into a tiny bag.

Obviously, the TSA agents noticed something was up and stopped her. She proceeded to get angry, screaming and accusing them of ruining Christmas for not letting her get on the flight. Really, sweetheart, you ruined Christmas yourself by trying to get around the rules.   • In the image above, the agent is showing her exactly where the pet policy is written. However, that seems not to be good enough for her, as she continues to complain that their website isn't “user-friendly” and the policy wasn't available when she (or her mom) bought her ticket. Maybe if she kept yelling like this, she would have gotten her way about 15-20 years ago, but people have no patience for Karens anymore. They know they're just making a fuss, and people are tired of letting them get their way just because they're purrsistent and loud.

  • As someone who lived in Portland for three years, we can't guarantee that this statement is true, but it is likely. Portlanders are great, but they do live in a bubble. We actually called it the “Portland bubble” when we lived there because as soon as you enter, it's like a whole other world. Everyone either drinks kombucha or craft beer. Don't get us wrong, we love both of those things, but it's like living on an island, and once you leave, you realize that it's not connected to reality at all.

    InsaneMar I cannot tell you how many times I have told owners to call their airlines and double check what you need and the requirements for bringing pets. That each airline has rules and rules to travel to different states are different to let alone different countries.

    Yet I'll get owners going "oh it will be fine I've traveled before". Even when they are going to places with strict rules like Hawaii and I know they haven't done a FAVN test yet or even got a Rabies vaccine. I just smile and go "Okay."

    Edit: Every pet on every airline | currently have had to help people look up requires a carrier per pet. Never put your pets in the same carrier please.

    Straight-Manner-2147 The FAA, I've been told, limits how many pets per plane. You must call to make a separate reservation for them, or you can roll up like she did same day and roll the dice if the flight is already full on pets. It's this was on every airlines I've ever been on, and she's willfully ignorant.
