'The dogs were good again this year': 2025's goodest good boy doggos that brought pawsitivity back into our hearts from "We Rate Dogs"

This is the kind of content we need in our lives every woofing day.

We've always said that dogs are too good for humankind, and this video below is just further proof that it's true. We've trained dogs to smell illnesses before we can detect them, to become service animals, and be the best companions a guy (or gal) could ask for. We cover a lot of these pawsitive dog stories here at Animal Comedy, like a rescue dog who convinced their owner to choose herself over her toxic ex, or puppies being rescued from the side of the road. But, we wanted to find you the best doggo stories of 2025, and there's no better place to turn than "We Rate Dogs".

We Rate Dogs started as a howlarious Twitter account in 2015, and quickly rose to viral status. Through the awwdorable pictures of pups combined with the supremely silly commentary, this account grew to become an international brand over the course of a few years. They now have merchandise, multiple social media accounts, and they even led to the formation of the 15/10 Foundation, a nonprofit that helps shelter dogs with medical and behavioral challenges.

They rounded up their goodest good boys of the year, each one showing some form of wholesome heroism or terrific transformation. From saving their families from dynamite to defending them against home intruders, these doggos certainly prove to us that they truly are man's best friend.

Meet Manchis, the doggo who saved her owner and his family from a live stick of dynamite that was thrown into their house. Manchi's owner is a Peruvian journalist who must have rubbed someone the wrong way, because why else would you throw a stick of dynamite into someone's house? Manchi was able to somehow extinguish the dynamite with her teeth before it detonated. 14/10 - definitely worthy of being in the top 5 of the year!

This is Oakley, whose house caught on fire while his family was away. When the police and firefighters arrived, he led the emergency crew right to his leash so they could take him out like the good boy he is. Luckily, both his family's house and Oakley were safe. A very good boy and a pawfectly polite citizen, 15/10.

Now we're on to Tiki, who came to Muddy Paws Rescue quite literally paralyzed with fear. A foster dog mom took him in and shared his journey on the internet. The world watched him open up and learn to trust again. He went from being frozen in space to having a heart full of love, excitement, and joy. “He inspired us all to be a little braver” - 13/10, very courageous.

Eeyore was on a walk with his grandma when she fell and couldn't get back up. After being gone for nearly an hour, her husband called the police to have them come and investigate. Barely starting their search, they found Eeyore, who led them straight to his grandma and got her the help she needed. Everyone was okay in the end, but without Eeyore, that might not have been the case. 13/10 - very loyal and not very sad at all!

Last, but certainly not least, is Zeus. Zeus stayed by his owner's side after he was the victim of a break-in, where he received multiple serious injuries. He attempted to defend his owner and received some injuries as well, but in pain, he never left dad's side. He stayed there to comfort his human and continue to guard him until the authorities showed up and treated them both. “The love, the comfort, and, you know, knowing that the sacrifice he was willing to give for me.” 15/10 - probably the best boy ever. We all need a Zeus in our lives!
