Company fires hardworking employee to save $25,000, that arrogance ends up costing them $110,000: 'In my opinion, that's the best money they've ever spent.'

Fresh graduates tend not to know their worth, so this company decided to take advantage of that and hire them for a fraction of their market value. The second one of their employees started showing confidence, they fired him. Unfortunately for the company, he knew his rights and cost them over $100k.

Don't sell yourself short, people! It's hard to find a job right now, but that doesn't mean you should settle. You are a hard worker and deserve to be compensated for it. This employee might have been hired as an underpaid worker, but he eventually grew to know his worth. His skills had enhanced over his time working there and it was clear he was doing way more than his paycheck reflected. So when he realized this and asked to be compensated properly, he got fired.

Lucky for him, there are some laws around this. Unlucky for the shady company, he knew them very well. So, he did the right thing and reached out to a lawyer. That's when his company, who was trying to save $25k, ended up having to dish out $110k instead. Now that is karma with a paycheck!

Not all companies are shady like this one. Some try to go through the correct steps when it comes to letting someone go. It should never be an easy thing for a company to do. That decision means completely flipping a person's life upside. So we sure hope that when the decision is made to fire someone, it is made with a lot of thought, professionalism, and empathy for the fired employee.
Unfortunately, with the rate these stories online come out about shady companies, we're starting to think that mutual respect and care between companies and their employees is just a fantasy…
That's why we cheer on this person! It's scary to have to face an old job within a court of law, but this man did it and won! As long as you have a strong case, you do your research, and hire the right people, you're golden.
