When winter gives us a break of itself, we like to hike with our dogs.

At the beginning of winter, when it wasn't still "I'm about to drop snow on you any minute now" sort of vibe we got from the sky, we took our dogs to the promenade that stretches across the beach. It was not the weather for our dogs to jump into the water and enjoy a doggo summer on the beach. But they loved the sea wind we get in winter. They chased each other in the sand while we were throwing the frisbee, and they enjoyed the warm bath we gave them at home right after.

In the height of winter, right after Christmas, we took our dogs on a nature-filled mountain hike. The paths were just cleared from the snow (that was still piled around the trees), and our dogs were mesmerized by the stunning view - and honestly? So were we. Apparently, our dogs really love snow. We made a deal to take them on a wintery hike every year from now on.

And now, when this cold weather seems to never stop, we take a break from winter ourselves. We warm the house, we take the biggest blanket we own, we carve a cozy spot in our bed, invite our dog for a cuddle session, and look at all the doggo content online to warm our hearts when it's so chilly and crisp outside. We know it's not really a hike, but we did walk from the kitchen to the bedroom, and so did the dog.

And in turn, every seal is a sea dog. They're exactly like our beloved doggos on land, and they even bark the same (well, almost).
