High school principal goes on 3-hour rant reprimanding teachers for taking sick days and not working after hours: 'She also made us stand for the whole thing and clap for her after every point'

Coming back to work after the holiday break is not usually easy for most employees, but for these teachers, their principal was the primary reason for making their return a living nightmare.

When people think about coming back from winter vacation in a high school, they usually consider how difficult that transition is for the students. However, let's not forget the teachers who have to put up with those students! These legitimate heroes have to try to rally their classrooms and convince these miscreants to focus on their lesson plans.

As if that task weren't challenging enough, this author related the story of how she and her colleagues had to endure the wrath of the disagreeable principal in charge. On that first day back, this lady organized a required meeting for all faculty to attend that ended up lasting a total of three hours. During that period, she did nothing but rant endlessly about everything her "underlings" were doing incorrectly in the classroom.

She told them they needed to stop taking sick days, despite the fact that it was well known how this woman would frequently call out of work because of one "family emergency" after another. She then began to rant about how it was crucial for teachers to work outside of their designated hours to ensure that their "scholars" were being taken care of. What a condescending and clueless requirement to compel your employees to work overtime without pay!

One of the more amusing visuals in this story is the fact that the entire faculty had to stand throughout this endless presentation. Moreover, the principal, who seemed to take hints from cult leaders, compelled everyone to clap their hands and applaud her after each and every point she made. At the end of the day, if this speech was intended to inspire the high school faculty to work hard for their students, it did anything but that. In fact, the presentation only further confirmed for this author and her colleagues that they were being taken advantage of by their boss.
Here's hoping the principal ends up hearing just how unpopular her little performance was. It will be interesting to see how she tries to walk back her more disagreeable points. Our hope? This lady is ultimately pressured to step down after droves of faculty members quit on the spot.
