Being a dog dad is one of the best experiences we could have ever asked for. Sure, the puppy and teenage phase was pretty ruff, but now that our doggo is a fully-realized (and stabilized) adult pupper, we're having the time of our lives. We don't have to wake up early to take her out in the morning anymore, walks are a breeze, and most of her days are filled with quiet naps and chewing on her many, many toys.

Having a dog really is like having a 3-year-old around all the time, except this one can't really say no. She also always wants to cuddle, whereas toddlers start to gain their independence naturally around this age. All of this is to say that being a pupper pawrent is the best feeling ever. You have a child who waits for you patiently at home and is always excited to see you. Every experience with you is a good one. Can you say the same about a toddler?

Taking your puppy to work is one of the cutest things you can do as a pawrent. Not only is it essentially free doggie daycare because everyone wants to spend time with your puppy, but you're also exposing them to lots of important things that will help them grow up to be a confident, loving, and trusting dog. They get used to noises they wouldn't experience at home, learning to relax with lots of hustle and bustle around, and they get used to people approaching them without fear. It's great, but make sure you do it only after they've gotten all their necessary shots. And bring some puppy pads, because they're sure to have an accident or two exactly when you're not looking.

We love it when dogs physically request cuddles, just like this pupper above! When they lean into your hand or come into your space and rest their heads on your legs, or bury themselves in your chest, you just know that they've chosen you as their safe space.
