Happy little pup grows up to be a real life Muppet due to a genetic hair mutation, Internet hilariously tries to guess his dog breed: ‘What in the “Fraggle Rock”…’

How old were you when you discovered that long-haired pit bulls existed?

Theodore is your regular pit bull pup who loves to smile ear-to-ear and wag his tail like a whip. His mother, a vet tech, is obsessed with him and loves him beyond a doubt. But as a professional, she does not believe he is simply a pit bull breed. It is of her professional opinion and the opinion of non-professionals online that he is possibly also part Muppet, Labubu, Gremlin, Cowardly Lion, the list goes on…

We bet you're very curious as to why everyone thinks this simple happy pittie is saying to be cross-bred with fictional characters, but after one look at him you will understand. Theodore isn't your regular pit bull, he is a long-haired pit bull, with… quite the hairdo.

It turns out his two pit bull parents both carried a recessive hair gene called the FGF5. This created a hair mutation, and now sweet puppers Theodore gets to sport a mullet/mane that is unique to his breed.

Under the hair, he appears to be like any other pit bull. But with the hair he is a one-of-a-kind pittie that looks like he maybe have gotten is tail stuck in an outlet when he was young. And we love it!

We're not the only ones forming an obsession with sweet Theodore and his creative hairstyles, most of the internet is with us on this. It's not like he's growing a nice full-coat of long lushes “silky” hair. He simply has scraggly tuffs that circle his face, go down his back, and keep him looking like a Fraggle Rock character.
It isn't completely uncommon, but it is very rare to get this gene from both parents causing this aesthetically pawdorable coat. This makes Theodore a very unique pup and the Internet agrees. One commenter said he had the best mullet ever, while others are posting photos of silly characters that could be Theodore's twin.
Who knows? Maybe we'll be seeing Theodore's hairstyle on the catwalk in this year's fashion week. Until then, this little trendsetter is keeping our hearts full and warm.
