The whole concept of coworker music or movies is pretty arbitrary. It's basically just a shorthand way to declare that you have better taste than them. While they're just some guy who you see 40 hours a week, you are a multifaceted individual with a rich life outside the office. You have good taste! When you discover that your coworker loves to watch the latest cable procedural show, your inner judgmental critic scoffs at them. They tell you about an indie folk band they're going to see, and you judge them for their corny music taste, knowing the band hasn't had a hit in decades. There's no true definition of "coworker" culture; it's purely vibes-based.

These people also noticed that their coworkers are eating some crazy foods! You've got to be cautious about what you joke about in the workplace, lest you end up with a scheduled meeting with your HR rep. This even extends to food choices, which might be super normal to one person, while being repulsive to another.

Let's pick one example that comes up in the world of unusual foods from time to time: peanuts and Coca-Cola. People will post this every now and then — a perfectly good plastic Coke bottle, with the top ¼ of the bottle full of peanuts. To some of us, this is pretty strange, and perhaps not especially tasty-looking. But other people worship this food as a legit delicacy, mostly in the south, and I'll let you read the rest of the details for yourself below. That's the kind of dish that might appear startling at first… until you try it, that is.

I think some of your coworkers are rage-baiting you! They're eating foods that can't possibly taste good, and they're getting silently judged for it.

In this month's installment, you'll witness the surprising ways our coworkers are using peanut butter. No doubt it's a versatile condiment, but one dude mixed the humble nutty spread with taco sauce. I need to stare at a wall for a while before I'd know what to write about that. I know what both of those things taste like separately, but together… I just can't imagine that taste is pleasing to the tongue. And of course, no judgment to people who can't afford food and need to create odd combos for survival… but I'm pretty sure taco sauce doesn't add any nutritional value. PB has all the protein, why add a cumin-heavy, vinegary sauce? If I'm in the wrong, and I'm actually missing out on a great flavor combo, y'all will have to let me know, and I will actually try it. Because if nothing else, much like these coworkers eating their meals of dubious nature, I'll commit to the bit.

Apparently, this is a southern food tradition. It stems from farmers who'd have dirty hands and would want to eat their peanuts without touching them.
Couldn't they just pour the peanuts into their mouth, instead of into the soda? I don't know… I guess they're just being innovators.
Let me know if you've tried this one, because a lot of commenters seem to love this salty-Coke snack.
