Moving out of your family home is a big deal. Although a newbie to the adult world may be spending so much money on rent that they “forget” to fill the fridge with groceries, nothing tastes sweeter than a young adult's absolute freedom. These days, fledgling adults are getting older and older when they move out, and it's not because they lack the desire to experience total freedom; it's because it's downright expensive. It's pricey to get a place on your own! And if you're following the old-school rules of a rental apartment that's ¼ of your monthly salary, odds are, you'll never get out of your parents' basement.
Of course, unless you're as frugal as this sister, who made sacrifices for her savings account, she wasn't willing to throw away her future to save her sister from the consequences of her own poor decisions.

When you're working a minimum wage job, saving enough to fulfill your biggest dreams feels impossible, especially if you have a freeloading sister demanding the lion's share of your savings.
Making $7.25 an hour, this 24-year-old was scrounging together every spare penny she had so she could eventually move out of her parents' house. At a certain point, she proudly proclaimed to her family that she had a little nest egg and some big plans of what she wanted to do with it. However, instead of being proud of her little sister, the eldest sibling saw dollar signs in her eyes. The next time she needed financial help or a family bailout, she knew who she would ask to pay up.
But when the day finally came for the eldest to collect, the frugal sister refused.
Although she could have helped her sister out of trouble again, it would take her another 4 years to come up with her savings again. At that rate, she wouldn't be moving out of her parents' home until she was nearly 30. Sorry, sis, but I can't penny-pinch like this for much longer.
