Neighborhood stalemate ensues because the big truck owner next door thinks he's entitled to the whole street, so the neighbor gets the city to paint the curbs red: 'He's not moving his truck for me'

A man had important IRS documents, bills, and packages being delivered to his house soon, but because the street-legal monster truck owner next door felt entitled to park directly in front of his mailbox, the postman couldn't access the delivery. After attempts at a peaceful compromise, the arrogant truck driver got even more ornery in his parking locale, so the mail-less neighbor took action to protect his property.

Now, nobody gets to park on the street.

Getting into disagreements with their neighbors is not uncommon. Like family members, all cooped up in the same household for too long, tensions can flare when people spend too much time in one another's proximity. That's why the holiday season is so full of flare-ups and disagreements, because people's safe space (their home) is seemingly invaded by another's opinions, arrogance, and unquenchable thirst for discourse. However, when it comes to the semi-strangers that live in your cul-de-sac, oftentimes, your only interactions are from the porch. Waving on Sunday mornings while they mow the lawn or peering down the street like a looky-loo when you hear a strange noise from a house down the way, neighbors rarely come together for a collective kumbaya.

Most people aren't friends with their neighbors, and that's totally normal. Separation of church and state, right? Separate your outside life and your home life. But there are times in a homeowner's life when they must stick their neck out from their tortoise shell because a neighbor refuses to act cordially in the neighborhood. While most are happy to keep to themselves, action must be taken once a rowdy neighbor sets foot in your safe space, especially if they're impeding the delivery of all of your mail.

Now things are personal.

Mail strikes a strange chord in people's hearts these days. In the past, receiving a letter was like getting a golden ticket from Mr. Wonka himself, and the letters were likely filled with birthday wishes, wedding invitations, or notes of celebration. Modern mail is more sinister, and is usually just bills, junk mail, or seemingly life-or-d3ath parcels from the IRS that require URGENT attention. Apart from our occasional Amazon package, which sparks a boost of serotonin, incoming mail is often as secretive as it is important.

So when this man realized he hadn't received any mail in weeks, he wondered what could be the culprit. With suspicions on the rise, and a daily mailman rolling his eyes every time he was in front of the house, the mail-less man realized that his neighbor, the dude with a street-legal monster truck at his disposal, was blocking his mail box. What kind of mail was he missing out on? Important documents? Bills? He wouldn't know until the path to his box was cleared.

With all cordial avenues to solve this issue blocked by the neighbor's arrogance, there was only one way to solve this neighborhood discourse: Remove everyone's right to park on the street. Buddy, if you can't be cool about blocking someone's property with your mega truck, you're going to be forced to park that gas guzzler in your own driveway from now on.
