Couple performs roadside rescue of 14 week old purebred Mudi puppy who was hanging on to life, after tense night the puppy pulls through and is found a furever home with loving family, rescuers say: ‘It was bittersweet bringing her over there’

Dog rescues are often followed by adoptions, but this story tells the tale of what happens when a hooman chooses responsibility over infatuation, putting the pupper's best interests before their own.

We cannot deny it, once you put yourself out there to rescue a pupper it can be incredibly tough to let them go. Not only might you have spent time rescuing them, cleaning them and caring for them, but you likely also spent money taking them to the vet and spoiling them with toys and treats. At which point it is all too easy to get attached and say that you deserve to adopt this pupper no matter what your life situation is.

But sometimes you do not have the time to dedicate yourself to a pupper who needs attention, sometimes you do not have adequate space to allow a darling doggo to roam in. and in both of these cases it is upon us to make the tough, albeit right decision to find a pawfect family for that precious pupper. And that is exactly what the couple in this story had to do. So hats off to them and may we all learn the lesson of their ways.

You can almost imagine them chasing after this terrified and tiny puppy who is screaming at them, while they are screaming back at the puppy ‘Why are you running away from us? We only want to help you!’. It must have been quite the scene. But thank goodness that these two hoomans had such vast amounts of kindness in their hearts that they would stop mid-drive and put in such effort to save a soul who has no connection to them.

  • It is hard to believe that with all the effort and expenses that this couple are putting into this cute canine that they will not be keeping it. Most people would have instantly fallen in love with its cute, smushable face, but to somehow manage to avoid that and still invest all of that time and effort and still not be overwhelmed by love for a pupper is truly strong. And we need these kinds of people in the world because it is not that they do not appreciate the wonder that this dog is. It is that they so deeply appreciate it, that they would rather it went to a home and family who could give it the full time care and attention that it deserves.
