15+ Online sellers who are overconfident about their products: 'Give me $8,000 for a piano'

We all know that one person who's convinced they can sell literally anything online, knowing that someone out there will pay good money for it. 

Usually, that item is like, a homemade art project that no one would possibly pay for, clothing that's tattered and ripped, or a futon that really stretches the credibility of being described as "worn." You might wonder who would ever be interested in buying these items, but there's a full online economy blossoming from the dredges of estate sales. 

One of my faves from this round is a person who's trying to sell a pool. Yes, that's right, an in-ground pool, not one of those above-ground ones that are made of tarp material. Their in-ground pool is in fact, still in the ground, as are the surrounding stones. I suppose their plan is to find a buyer who will pay a whopping $3,000 to show up at their home with a bulldozer and scoop that bad boy up out the ground, then somehow transfer it to their house, I guess by putting it on a flatbed truck? Perhaps a U-Haul? There seems to be so much planning involved with it that it might cost like $5k by the time they're done bringing the pool to its new home. And in that case, why even bother getting it secondhand, in the shape that's good for some strangers' backyard? At that point, you could hire professionals who install pools every day, and they could do that for you. No need for the Facebook Marketplace at all!

Another person is trying to sell their large collection of Disney VHS, which does bring back the ol' nostalgia. But unless you have $15k, you can't touch that collection of VHS tapes! They're claiming they have a few rare ones, so I did a little research on that front, and found some interesting information about these old-timey VHS tapes. 

And of course, there are the people who are just wasting their time. These are the type of people who try to sell Taco Bell hot sauce packets. But this time, it's a person trying to profit off of… a shopping cart. Buddy, do I have news for you — depending on how strong your ethics are, you can get one of those for free at uh, almost any store. You gotta try a little harder than that!

    … They're also not nearly as valuable as this seller seems to think. You can buy them for $10 or $20. But apparently, a lot of sellers still think they're sitting on a gold mine with this. And, fun fact, The Little Mermaid is apparently the VHS with the highest resale value. You learn something every day! And this seller will probably learn for themself that no one is just waiting around with $15k to spend on VHS tapes that you could also get at the library or on Amazon for very cheap.

    Also the second you move them, they become untuned, and you have to call up a guy to re-tune it for you. Kind of a hassle!
