Kitten hiding in a backyard firepit found by family who adopts her when they needed her just as she needed them: 'I go out back and hear the tiniest high-pitched meowing.'

The night before school starts, I'm finally in the bathroom taking out my contacts when my husband texts me to come outside.

There hiding and crying is the cutest kitten. She comes out when I kneel down, she's semi friendly so we assume she belongs to a family, but also looks super rough so maybe somebody dumped her?

We look around for her mother and let her call out and nothing. It's already 11pm so we take her inside.

Luckily we are cat people and have all the things to keep her safe, warm, and comfortable for the night.

I post on all socials, pet groups, forums in our area, and vets to see who she belongs to and call it a night.

The next morning our kids wake up for school and hear her meowing in the mudroom.

They fall in love with her(so do we lol) at this point we are hoping she has owners because we already have 3 cats!

The kids name her Jinu(they thought she was a he lol) she's basically already ours. It's October 31st, the vet calls my husband to inform him our 14 year old cat Miso has oral cancer.

Miso was pawing at her mouth and smacking her lips oddly which prompted me to call the vet earlier that month.

I was bawling. We adopted Miso a few months after moving in together, she was my best friend.

He would often go for weeks or months at a time for schooling and I wanted someone to keep me company.

Miso was my sweet baby kitten. All the moves, two pregnancy's (one with HG), pandemic, house renovation, and finally being able to work from home to enjoy all the cuddles.

We were going to be madame and duchess, Lucifer and the stepmother when they are in bed lol All of this was happening and I didn't realize that Jinu, that crazy little kitten was the light our family needed during this difficult transition.

She would always try to play with Miso, which was comical at best. Miso at that point didn't tolerate hyper kitten behavior, she would hiss and walk away from Jinu lol but they were friends from afar.

We are all grieving Miso, she finally crossed over on January 7th. I could go on for hours telling you how amazing she was and how she loved to be held and cuddled but I'm here to say that I'm a believer in CDS.

OP Intelligent_Draw_627 Thank you, it's been a rollercoaster of emotions. For the first month or so I felt guilty for bringing Jinu into our house and especially giving her loves while Miso was around. Then it hit me one day, she showed up because it was time for miso to go

Put You Through Me When I was a teenager, my childhood cat was dying. We think cancer, but the vets weren't sure and neither were we. He'd never been a fan of other cats, but 3ish months before he passed this tiny screaming ball of orange fluff showed up on the doorstep. She was also way too young to be out on her own, skinny and looking rough, but so friendly. The day my childhood cat went to sleep, I came home and buried my face in her fur. She came inside not long after, and was oh so loved u

OP Intelligent_Draw_627 happy tears are rolling down my face. I am very sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing, I chuckled with the screaming ball of orange fluff! It's amazing the impact our fur babies have on us. The unconditional love they give us the CDS is real!

Sea-Hope-3141 Omg I'm going to cry AGAIN and I'm in a public place!!! Yes you are right. Miso's guardian angel brought you another. Maybe that's how it works. Jinu is adorable btw.

OP Intelligent_Draw_627 I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to make you cry. I hope that's how it works because we all need some kitty/cat love! Thank you so much, she's a pill

FerretMomma 5211 I am so sorry for the loss of your miso. I too really believe in the cat distribution. My brother-in- law lost his best friend Oscar who also showed up 8 years ago at his home. Oscar was 16 years old and died 2 months ago,a month later a stray showed up that they are slowly trying to befriend to bring into their home. I told my sister that Oscar sent this beautiful creature their way to help Mike heal and to start a new adventure with this cat. I will also add congratulations on

PutYouThroughMe Thank you, and I'm sorry for yours as well. She started screaming the day she showed up and never stopped. We did the same thing you did, posting her everywhere to see if she had a home, and it was nearly impossible to take photos of her because she was either screaming or right up against the lens wanting love. I've moved into my own place and am (slightly impatiently) waiting for my turn with the CDS. Hopefully soon

OP Intelligent_Draw_627 Thank you she is one cozy hyper kitty! She really is the perfect cat for us, with two kids 5&7, Jinu is amazing. She lets them pick her up like a baby, gives them kitty soft paws when it's enough and I'm very shocked at how she doesn't hide or run away from their lack of indoor voices!

geekyheart225 I feel like this is true. It's like they know when it's time. When my aunt's cat passed away, that afternoon their barn cat (who had always been aloof and had no interest in the house) decided to move in. It was as if the old cat told him on the way out that it was his job to watch over the humans now. Bond the barn cat (he was a tuxedo, so Bond was a fitting name) became a house cat that day and never looked back. He was a comfort for my aunt and uncle until it was his time, sever
