Pregnant chihuahua mom rescued from puppy mill by family takes her first walk after spending most of life chained to cage, but with love and pets overcame her fear of outside: ‘I was overjoyed, i praised her a lot and her tail started wagging full on.’

Being rescued from a puppy mill when you are the one creating the puppies is quite different from your standard puppy rescue, and requires a long road to recovery, both physically and emotionally. And this is one chihuahua's story of release and freedom in her furever home.

No two rescue stories are alike, but this is one that truly stands out amongst the rest. It does so for two reasons, one is that you rarely hear about the puppy producer being rescued from a puppy mill (most sadly do not make it) and second you rarely hear about a pregnant dog being adopted. Most hoomans simply do not have it in them, or do not have the resources to care for such a canine.

Which is what makes this story one of such success and celebration as one incredibly lucky pupper is given a loving and caring family who stick with her step by step as she learns what it is like to live like a free and loved dog. Something that many of us hoomans and most puppers take for granted.

  • This kind of stuff is so heart breaking. It is bad enough that some hoomans use dogs to make money, then it is even worse when they use them to make more dogs in order to make that money. And you would assume that if you are putting a dog through all that turmoil and misery over and over that you might at least give them a good life, but no, as in this case you chain them to their cage, essentially turning them into a birthing machine and nothing more. It truly removes all meaning from the term humanity that we so often like to throw around as though it makes us somehow holier and higher than animals who are savages. How wrong that idea is…

  • Yeah we could imagine. After being abused for all those years you are not going to be in any kind of good condition and truly the best thing to do is to over feed provided the poor pupper has it in them to eat. Because not all cute canines will have that drive left in them after all those years. Some are just ready to give up, and rightfully so, it is what they have been conditioned to believe, that their life is worth less than anything else in the world. Thankfully that was not the case for this brave pupper.
