There is nothing worse than the people you entrust with your cat breaking that trust.

Look, we know who our cats are. We know that it is difficult to find cat sitters who can deal with all of our cats' needs. And we've heard the horror stories. We know how important it is to make the right choice when it comes to the people who will be taking care of our cats in our absence. We've heard of cat sitters losing cats, letting them out of the house even though they were told not to. We've heard of cat sitters throwing parties in the houses they're cat sitting in, without any regard to the house or the cat. We've even heard of cat sitters not wanting to give the cats back, making up all kinds of excuses and reasons for why they can't or shouldn't.

Making the choice is not easy, but sometimes, it is necessary. And we make it. And we hope that the people we chose to put our trust in were the right people. We always make the best choice that we can during these circumstances. So, having that trust broken, having the people who chose to take care of our cat mistreat them… that is infuriating.

Honestly, we cannot think of a worse thing to experience, both as the cat owner and as the people reading this story. We put so much faith in these kennels, especially when we put our cats in there. If we ever do, it is because we have no other choice. We know that it's stressful for our cats to be out of their homes. It is always a last resort to put them in a kennel. And to think that the people we entrust with our babies would treat them so carelessly, so lovelessly… It's heartbreaking, really. And we would hope that people like this employee, people who see this happening, wouldn't wait until it happened to their pet to have the bad employees face consequences.

Maybe, in some ways, this sounds like it's over the top, like this person really couldn't let go, even after the other employees faced consequences. But honestly? We support this. Of course, being able to make money and feed your kids is very important… but not at the cost of our pets' well-being. Simply not. It's unacceptable to treat animals badly, and we don't care how bad your financial situation is. Your babies come first to you. Our babies come first to us. And people like this woman should not be getting paid for not taking care of the pets people put in her care.
