It's common knowledge that many parents don't stay together. Custody battles, child support, and all the usual messy stuff in between marriage and divorce tend to affect a person. Even still, as a parent, you need to find ways to continue supporting your little one. It's what we do for those who cannot do it for themselves. So, when faced with adversity, it's up to parents to protect and provide. That might seem unfair, but it's the way of the world. If one instead uses funds reserved for one's child on expenses that are neither necessary nor beneficial to them, then it's safe to say that they might not be the most suitable person to take care of a kid.
