Being a dog owner is a big responsibility. Yet, the older I get, the more I realize that most people who go to the humane society, the pet store, or a breeder to get a dog are barely capable of taking care of themselves, let alone another living creature. Dogs need TLC at all times, or at least a human to take them out for a potty break every few hours, and just because dogs seem chill with being left alone in the house forever, they get lonesome in the silence, waiting for their favorite human to come back and play with them.
Inherently social creatures, dogs want to be with us. We can't, of course, take our dogs everywhere we go (despite what the insistent Golden-doodle owners who bring their untrained floofs into every restaurant and grocery store think). Because of this reality, though, dog owners must take it upon themselves to ensure that this creature in their care gets everything it needs throughout the day: Water, potty breaks, kibs, and maybe a few pets and playtime here or there.
This Tesla owner left his dog in the car for 12+ hours, leaving the poor pooch behind and assuming his smart car would suffice as a caregiver for the day. Boy, was he wrong. His vehicle became a spectacle on the street and online, as it should have, when a dog lover became a crusader for justice and a hero for the trapped dog. Instead of just walking by and ignoring the doggo's needs as the owner did, this dog lover kept tabs on the canine, making sure the temperature stayed cool, calling the humane society, and doing everything in their power (short of smashing the windows), to ensure the dog was safe.
Unlike the dog's owner, they were dedicated to his safety, and when the Tesla guy finally came back, they confronted him with an outraged fury he'd never seen before, and likely would never forget.
