Kindness. Kindness all around in this story. Taking in a cat that was asking for help, taking that cat in despite the fact that you already have cats and weren't looking for any others, deciding that, despite all of that, you would adopt the cat, because you simply cannot allow the little thing to go to a shelter where it might have to wait years before anyone takes him. These are the kind of humans that we wish more of us would be like. Kind without asking for anything back. Just wanting to give love and comfort to animals that need our help.

"I’d say the kitten (we’re calling him Tux) that showed up in our backyard on Sunday night is pretty comfortable with us now."

"This little dude showed up in our backyard Sunday night. I already have 2 cats and had zero interest in adopting a third one, but his cuteness is making it very difficult to resist the idea of an addition now."

"Update: Turns out this little guy already had a family…"

What happened here - that is kindness too. It may have only been a few days, but these people have clearly bonded with this cat. And for good reason. Friendly cats are difficult to resist even for people who hate cats. People like these, who love cats so much, never stood a chance. They could have ignored the poster. They could have not given the kitty back. But they did the right thing. they brought the kitty back to where it belongs. And who knows? Maybe, considering the fact that you are neighbors, you will be able to come and visit every once in a while, and give the kitty more of these cuddles that he likes so much.
