• And those noise-cancelling headphones you're wearing don't make your voice any quieter, even though it might seem that way to you. There are few forces more unstoppable than a roommate with a noise-cancelling headset who happens to be losing a game of a MOBA or who has experienced a close loss in a battle-royale style looter-shooter. It's always the same, too, earnest promises not to do it again and to keep it down in the future, which are then conveniently forgotten the following night. 

  And what is there really to be yelling at anyway? While it's fun to get immersed in and emotionally invested in what you're doing, at the end of the day, when all of that adrenaline-pumping energy is spilling over into shared living spaces with full volume, it starts being a personal and public disturbance. 

  Plus, as your neighbors and roommates grow more agitated, their patience dulled by sleep deprivation and their resentment equally sharpened, they might just consider meeting your deranged behavior with some of their own. 

  That's how it was between these two siblings when a fed-up older brother decided to take matters into his own hands, utilizing a high-tech method to get even with his younger brother. After other requests to “keep it down” failed and the behavior continued, he decided to take a more clandestine approach, disconnecting his brother's PlayStation temporarily from the WiFi before reconnecting it, making it appear as if it were a severe issue. Repeating this enough times, he was able to make his brother give up and go to bed in frustration, which meant that he slept soundly for the rest of the night.
