Have you ever wondered what the definition of happiness is, or if there is one? If you have to write down what you think happiness is, what would you put? Is it an overwhelming feeling of content? Is it absolute euphoric and excitable joy? Is it something you feel in a moment, or a perspective you carry with you at all times? When we think of happiness as a concept, a million different things can pop into our heads, but something that always comes to us is our precious doggos. Our dogs get us through thick and thin, bad and good times, the things they didn't even try to help with but unconsciously did. It's surprising how much they comfort us so effortlessly. All they have to do is wag their little tails, breath that hot dog breath on us while they're panting out of excitement just to see us, and smile that big smile with their great big dog teeth.

Our dogs get us up in the morning whether we like it or not. They need to go outside and do their business, which forces us to hop out of bed, put shoes and socks on, and go outside with their leash all groggy eyed. They're also waiting for us as soon as we get home. If we come home after a bad day, we know we have them to cheer us up. Dogs aren't like humans either, they can't hurt us in the same way. Have you ever had a loved one you felt resentful for? Maybe they said something mean to you or put you down, or maybe your partner lied and cheated on you. It's easy to have a complicated relationship with people; we're so humanly flawed. But dogs on the other hand aren't. Dogs don't lie, they don't cheat, they don't break our hearts or fire us one day out of the blue. Dogs are loyal, reliable, and downright good for our mental health and well-being.
