Adorable doggo leads woman to find 4 spicy cats zip tied in a cage, she rescues them and names them Ginger, Sporty, Baby, and Posh: 'They would have never been found if Goose hadn't sniffed them out'

Three cheers for the four-legged hero of our story, Goose!

It makes us sad that people resort to abandonment when they can't deal with their pets, instead of choosing many of the responsible courses of action that are purrfectly pawssible. You could make a post on Facebook, seeing if anyone wants to adopt them, or even give them to an animal shelter so that they have a chance of finding a new family and being adopted again. What you absolutely should not do, is put all four of your unwanted cats in a pink cage, zip tie it shut so they can't get out, and then abandon that cage in the forest.

While on a hike with his mom, Goose, the golden retriever, alerted his mom to something strange off the trail. He led her to the bottom of a ditch, where she found the metal cage that housed our four soon-to-be rescue cats: Ginger, Sporty, Baby, and Posh (we hope you appreciate their names as much as we do). With no way to get out, these cats would have been in big trouble if it hadn't been for Goose and his purrfectly astute nose!

After giving them some food, Daisy, Goose's mom, contacted animal control, which transported the kitties to a nearby shelter for treatment. With two of them being Siamese cats, we're sure that they'll be adopted into a family that loves them in no time.

  • We like to believe in the good in people… but this really tests our belief. It's hard to believe that someone has any good inside them that would lock four cats in a cage and then dump them like this in the woods. Those poor cats, they must have been so scared. All we can say is that we're very thankful for Goose, who saved these kitties' lives and more.

    Inside were four abandoned cats, zip-tied shut in the cage. Phillips called her family to help hoist the crate out of the deep ditch. They gave the cats food before contacting local animal control.

  • What goes around, comes around. We believe in karma, and we 100% hope that people better be ready to have a taste of their own medicine. No living creature deserves to be treated like this, and if you are going to do that to someone, you better be ready to have it done to you.

    thecallantaylor Omg I can't even process how anyone could do this. And SIAMESE!! Some of the most loving types of cats to exist! I call on karma to give exactly what's coming to the people responsible for this. This is why the narrative around cats NEEDS to change. Not to mention anyone that does something like this, is a serious threat to the human race and needs to be dealt with. So happy they're safe and that the dog and owners were able to help them!

    universexpander This honestly sounds like they were dumped as revenge on the owner. Look at them all four cats were obviously well cared for and loved before they were dumped. And the zip ties on the cage SCREAM 'malice' How much do you want to bet they were dumped by the owners ex????
