Rescuing a stray cat will change the cat's entire life.

We mean that. Rescuing a cat is not simply a "nice thing" to do. For you, maybe it's something small. Maybe it's an inconvenient couple of hours - rescuing the cat and getting it to a shelter. But for the cat, it is everything. It is life-changing. For the cat, it is an act of kindness that will change their whole world, that will make them transform. And for some cats, it is even more than that. For some cats, rescuing them means saving their lives.

Some cats are used to living on the streets. They know how to deal with the roughness of it all, and they won't even go near humans, even ones like us who would be very happy to pet them. Other cats though, abandoned cats who once had families, they don't understand the cruelty of the outside world. The kitty in today's story is one of them. We don't know who abandoned this cat or when, but we do know that he has been reaching out to humans for a long time and getting turned away. We know that we was injured and in pain when he was finally found on Christmas day. And we know that in weather like that, with bad health like his, and with people turning him away at every corner, slowly but surely eroding his trust in humans, rescuing him that day most likely saved his life.

The thought of people chasing this little guy off of their properties instead of ever thinking to help is so heartbreaking. This is clearly a friendly cat, a cat that is used to people. That is why he kept coming up to people in the first place. We can only imagine what it was like for him, continuing to look for love and getting rejected, on top of being abandoned in the first place. It must have been a terribly difficult time for him. He is lucky to have found himself in your hands. And we know, whether you keep him yourself or not, that you will do your very best to make sure that his next home is one that will never abandon him again.

In every single picture that there is of him, he looks so gentle and kind. We know that it is going to not be the easiest job to find him a home, considering both his age and his health status, but we also think that the second that they give him a chance, they will see how precious and sweet he is. We know that his home is out there. And if we are allowed to be selfish for a moment, we wish that you would just realize that his home is with you. He seems to be thriving. He looks bonded. We think he can stay.
