Marv the reactive rescue dog’s marvelous transformation from darn dog to perfect pupper thanks to his pawrent’s relentless support and love, dog mom says: ‘He has come so far and I feel so lucky to have found such an amazing, intelligent, and loyal dog.’

If you thought that a reactive doggo cannot be trained out of their disruptive habits, then this story will show you just how transformative some good training and patience can be.

Taking on a rescue dog is tough enough. You have to deal with all sorts of gaps in behavioral expectations that the pupper's previous owner has left for you to deal with. A process of acclimatization that can take months in itself. But if that dog happens to be reactive then you have a whole different kettle of fish on your hands. And that is what happened when our canine loving hooman adopted dear Marv. He came to her a wild and frightened mess, but with months of dedicated work to train him out of his bad habits, the pair of them rose from the ashes.

Eventually earning themselves a spot at the group obedience class, a place they had never dreamed of being allowed into considering how Marv used to behave around other dogs and hoomans. It just goes to show that every dog wants to be a good boy or girl deep down inside, even if they do not know how to show it.

Holy guacamole that is quite the situation to find yourself in. a dog who is that untrained and not a puppy is more than a handful to handle. We cannot imagine what that must have been like to live with day in and day out. The amount of patience and understanding it must have taken just to not give up on the doggo, let alone put in the work and effort to train him is simply unreal. Sure there might be people who go around and save dogs from various situations. But people who are willing to sacrifice so much of their lives for a dog like this are on a whole other level.

Wow, this is such an impressive transformation, hot dogs or not. Everyone needs a reward to look forward to when putting in the hard work and effort. And by the sounds of it Marv has been more than willing to give it everything he has to try and meet his new pawrent’s expectations. After all, a doggo needs to learn the rules of life if they want to live amongst other dogs and hoomans. We hope for both of these courageous souls that there be lots more training and hot dogs in their future.
