Doggo adoptions are complicated and this story just goes to show how nuanced and intricate they can truly be.

Many pawrents go through the trials and tribulations of doggo adoptions, bouncing from shelter to shelter, dog to dog, unable to decide who will be a good fit for their lives. It is a big decision and not one that you want to have to go back on. But in many cases shelters and rescues try to pressure potential pawrents to adopt before they are ready. In some cases, such as this story, taking time to think about the adoption results in missing the opportunity to adopt.

But that should never leave you feeling like you have missed your one and only opportunity. Because when something like that happens there is a good chance that the Doggo Distribution System has a whole other plan in store for you. You know, these situations are seriously tough. Being pressured into adopting any dog is a big no no, after all, everyone involved should be looking out for the best interest of the doggo. And making such a big life decision in a split second is not going to work out well for anyone. Which is why we so highly commend this couple who took their time to think. We hope that the other family who ended up adopting this doggo will not regret their decision. We cannot imagine what kind of a commitment it is to take on a dog with mobility limitations.

Well, as the saying goes, when the universe closes a door, it opens a window. And without knowing it this man is about to step into a big wide window the likes of which he was not expecting. Akin to walking through a set of open french doors that you thought were closed, he is about to find himself knee deep in a situation that is so shocking, and so unexpected (to him at least) that he will find himself overwhelmed. Luckily his wife will be available to help in one of the biggest decisions they will have made in a while.
