A call that they cannot resist. A gentle whiff, and they will go hunting. A tiny humm, and they will fogo chasing. Every cat has something like this, and they find it without warning, without any sign. They will be just as surprised by it as you are. And they will be obsessed with it forever.

For the cat in this story, that thing was opening the faucet. He's obsessed with it. Tries to do it even three years after the faucet was tied shut. Other cats are obsessed with snap peas. And if it is only this faucet, then why? What is so special about this one? Was it the water? Was it is the mechanism that is used to turn it on? What is it that calls to this cat every single time it goes up to that thing and tries to use it? So many questions, but it seems that we will never get the answers that we are looking for. Sigh.

Yes. Feed the obsession. Give him what he yearns for. He keeps trying anyway. It is not like you managed to turn him away from this. Might as well embrace it. Every once in a while, on special occasions, let him open the faucet. And more importantly than anything, we require that when you do allow him to open the faucet, you film his reaction and show it to us. We are so invested. We want to see the satisfaction and joy of him finally being able to do it again, to feel the power of the water.
