Meet the sea squirt! Or, in their scientific name: Ascidiacea. They sort of look like a small nylon bag that has a constantly surprised cartoon face.
They are also chordates - which means they're actually more related to us, despite not looking so animal-ish. The sea squirts are actually more closely related to vertebrates, like humans, than to molluscs, sea stars, or aquatic insects.
Are you surprised ot learn about them like their face looks? Because we sure were.

Oh, you think this is peak-level dad jokes and puns of the marine world? Well, here are some more for you to judge, and then we can show ourselves the door out:
Why don’t fish do well in school? Because they’re always below sea level.
I told my wife I wanted to be a marine biologist… she said I was just fishing for compliments.
Why did the crab never share? Because he was shellfish.
We started a band with some whales. We’re called Orcastra.
The shark said he didn’t like fast food because it’s not bite-sized.
What do sea turtles use to communicate? Shell phones.
Why did the jellyfish blush? Because it saw the ocean’s bottom.Yes, yes, we're letting ourselves out. Goodbye.
