Soul dog found thanks to midnight search mission after deciding to abandon her usual bed and hide in her pawrents’ closet while they frantically searched the neighborhood, dog mom says: ‘I let out a whistle and this dog comes waltzing out of our bedroom.’

In most cases us pupper parents love nothing more than for our doggos to be independent, that is other than in the case of this story. Here, some codepence could have helped a lot.

You raise your doggo to be a soul of the world. Someone who can comfort, be comforted, support others and all that good stuff. But sometimes your doggo can take things a little too far, which is to be expected when talking about learning how to live like a hooman. After all, we tend to take things too far all the time. And this is one of those cases where a doggo's self soothing during a storm took a step of independence too far and ended up giving his pawrents quite the shock and scare. Resulting in a frantic search mission, a lot of grief and a couple of very heavy hearts.

So the moral of the story is here to keep your dogs just dependent upon you enough that they have to keep you aware of their movements and goings on. What they decide to do is inconsequential so long as you know where and when they are going to do that thing.

Oh no, this is every pawrent’s worst nightmare. Along the lines of that scene in the Aristocats when the woman comes downstairs to find her precious cats missing. It is heartwrenching to have it happen and the thoughts that are instantly racing through your mind must be maddening. Not to mention it is the middle of the night and not all too long ago you were dreaming yourself. It is a moment of blind panic and adjustment that no one should have to handle. Especially when dealing with an older doggo who might have finally lost the plot all of a sudden…

What a heavy moment for this dog loving couple. You do everything you can, put your best intentions forward and give everything you have to make their lives better. But even when you do that, you can still end up lost for words and lost for what to do. This is rock bottom this is, and with the limitations on noise at that time it must have been so frustrating to not be able to release all the stress in their soul while screaming for their dog to come home.
