Luckily, too, for the worker, his boss fully backed him up, providing delivery receipts and proof of the due diligence on their end to try to mitigate a customer freakout. But with a recorded phone call, photos of the delivery, and proof of being given the wrong address, this customer's rage-fest was cut short, and he, instead, was forced to swallow his pride and place another order.
In this case, the customer was NOT right, but the delivery guy decided to let that play out according to fate. If he was told not to intervene or question a delivery location in a weird, unmanned, empty lot, so be it.
Anyone who has worked in customer service has encountered this sort of tomfoolery. Oftentimes, blinded by rage and entitlement, customers will insist that they're correct out of pride. But the prideful man is the one who gets their expensive cedar decking picked over by the buzzards because it was delivered to an empty lot at the edge of town.
Keep reading for the entire satisfying story of a guy who just did what he was told instead of letting a customer get under his skin. If only we could all have managers like him, who would take our side against customer-fueled tyranny and disrespect.
