In the middle of August in the SoCal desert, a small orange kitten comes running up to woman and her children, caring friend keeps him despite having 3 foster kitties

Cats aren't meant to deal with such harsh temperatures, and that's what makes this rescue so necessary. 

This woman was already fostering three other abandoned kittens who were around the same age as him (5-6 weeks). A coworker found him and brought him to her, and she took to him immediately. The coworker was walking with her kids and he came running up to them meowing. It was the middle of August in the SoCal desert. If you've ever experienced that kind of heat and sun then you now how unbearably hot it can be, even so early in the year. It was 117 degrees that day, so this little guy must have been overheated and parched. The woman knew her coworker cat lady would take him in despite having 3 other cats to foster. 

He was a feisty orange, possessive of food, and a playful little guy. Her original goal was to raise all the kittens to an adoptable age before finding suitable homes. But there were two that she fell in love with. This orange guy (who she named Taco), and another cat, Ramen. She would play with all the kittens, and these two became inseparable. She bathed them together, snuggled them together, and decided to keep them. Read the full story below.

  • I couldn't imagine fostering three cats, and then taking on a fourth. And they're kitten age! It's hard enough to have one kitten, but to have four means that you never stop taking care of them. Kittens can be incredibly destructive, and it's important to always watch them. She also has to litter box train them, and keep them separated. If they're exposed to each other, then they can easily become distressed and fight. It's important for their mental health and wellbeing to treat them properly at this young and nascent age. She does the right thing, and it's impressive she could handle so many kittens. I just have one cat and he's a handful. He's so fat, but so adorable. He is really a lover, not independent or distance like other cats. He always wants some sort of attention.
