Data center worker chose his conscience over his clock-in time after discovering a sickly stray kitten that sought refuge between the servers: ‘Told my boss to kick rocks and went straight to the vet!’

Regardless of your thoughts about data centers and what belongs in them or not, we could all agree that kittens definitely do not belong in a place like this.

This is not a discussion about the morality of data centers, the damage they cause to different aspects of life, and the actual need for them in modern society. Because, regardless of what you might think of data centers, they exist, and people work there - just as this one man who's doing his apprenticeship in one, so he doesn't actually have a choice but to be there. But since he's already there, probably, that's why the Cat Distribution System sent the sickly stray kitten to this unlikely place to be found by him.

You see, we can't really understand the genius of the CDS, but it does what it does best - sends cats in need to the right people who will care for them. So when you find a cat in the most unlikely of places, seemingly in random, it's most probably this mysterious entity telling you, "Congrats! You're a cat pawrent now." And the only logical conclusion you should have is "Well, I guess I have a cat now." But luckily for this one man, his wife and he already know the spiel, with the cat and two dogs they raise back home.

Another thing we thought of is that not everyone is suited to care for a cat who needs medical attention. We get it, it's a really tough job. But in some mysterious way, the Cat Distribution System knows to match the needs of the cat to the capabilities of the person they assign them to. And this kitten? He's healthy, happy, and safe - despite his rough beginning.

    I found Mars around 8 AM in a Data Center sleeping on top on insulation! He was on the verge of losing his eye, had an upper respiratory infection and had a tummy full of worms.

    The Vet estimated he was around 5 weeks when we found him.

    After a month of quarantine, regular vet visits, and slow meetings with his new brothers, he was ready for us :)

    his oldest brother Kakashi (cat) took no time at all to love him and play with him and are now totally inseparable! His other brothers, Finn (brown dog) and Obito (black dog) play with him every night and get his energy out.

    They "wrestle" only with their noses will Mars will run around the house and jump on them and lay on his back and paw at their faces. It truly is one big happy family with Mars.

    Edit: forgot to mention that at some point in his kitten-hood his poor little tail was chopped in half luckily it was clean and his tail was able to heal over it!

  • Getting a couple of cats to love each other like siblings is not an easy thing! Good on this couple who made it.

    You see, cats are very territorial, so introducing a new cat to a home that already has one is difficult. It's a process that involves many steps, and one that takes a lot of time. But if it's successful, like in this case, the results are absolutely adorable. Because cats who love each other like siblings are the cutest together - as evident from the attached pictures here.

I am so happy at how much he pulled through, he is so handsome and very obviously accepted into the family by your other fur babies. There is such a remarkable transformation in him which just goes to show how strong the power of love is. Love can work wonders. Thank you for sharing his story with us all

    OP Weary_Fox_1098 It was really rough! We had to apply his medicine by holding his eyes open and applying his medicine via eye cream the vet gave us. He was not happy with us
