Morning routines used to be the biggest rush of your life. Mom waking you up at 7 AM, getting dressed in record time, grabbing breakfast (if you had time) before fitting everything into your backpack and rushing out the door to school. Only to end up borrowing a pen from a friend because you lost yours.
Every day was a new adventure. Who were you going to sit with? Which games were you going to play during recess? Was your crush going to talk to you this time? And where was that permission slip you were supposed to have your mom sign?

Back then, every little thing felt like a huge event filled with excitement.
I remember racing to the playground the second the bell rang, hurrying before all the good spots were taken to claim the court for a game. My friends loved playing ball, and yes, the kid who brought the ball was treated like royalty. Things could get pretty intense, and there was always at least one dramatic injury every recess. Anyway, recess always ended too soon. Those minutes felt like FREEDOM and were always the best part of the day. But the best part of it all was being around our friends; they were the ones who made every moment so memorable.
