As a woman in the workplace, you might be used to all sorts of microaggressions. By nature, they're not big things that make you upset. It's small things that add up over the course of time, coming together to create a picture of inequity. It's good to call it out when it arises, or else the needle may never move in the right direction. But it can also be exhausting to have to be the one to notice what's going on. Maybe you wish your coworkers and managers would see it when it was happening and stop it in its tracks. That's what this employee tried to do on the spot when her coworker started talking over her. They were in front of clients, which made it a high-pressure situation, and everyone was trying to look good. But one employee's fight to be recognized had an inverse effect. Keep reading for all the details and see what you think about it.
