Some folks really are just chronically bad drivers. I'm sure there's at least one in your family or friend group! They're the type to zoom through yellow lights at top speed, who take speed limits as light suggestions, who are missing a mirror or a headlight, and who are always asking other people for gas money. They leave you clinging, white-knuckled, to the handlebar above the door, as you watch them weave in and out of traffic.
For most of us, we get out of the car after a bad drive and simply decide to never drive with them again. But other people still have to deal with the actions of such a bad driver!
For example: this couple, in their late 20s, are trying to enjoy their home of 6 years. It's pretty old, but they're dedicated to this house, and yet their neighbor's bad driving means that it's constantly getting dinged.
Specifically, the neighbor herself has taken to doing some “home improvements,” like chopping up a juniper bush and leaving the mess for the couple to find. And she then damaged their retaining wall with her own lifted truck. Infuriatingly, this dinged the wall, while her own truck didn't get even a scratch on it.
But that's not all she's done!

Would I be wrong if I put a post in my yard that could damage my neighbor’s truck?

What a strange thing to do to your new neighbors!
Quite the first impression!

I'm curious why her husband is siding with the neighbor who literally did hit the retaining wall with her truck. I don't see any reason why they shouldn't put up a post. After all, this neighbor has shown that she isn't especially polite, nor is she even trying to be neighborly. She did hit their property before, so there's precedent for needing a post in the first place. And like, what's the worst that could happen? The neighbor becomes self-aware about her own life choices, like dinging other people's property with her car?
