Here's what went down, as this parent explains it. They also added quite. a bit of detail in an edit, which is also included here. But as you read, one thing that's good to note is that only 1 person can live here. The parent insists there's only room for one person, which contradicts some people's advice, suggesting that the girls get a twin bunk bed and try to live together anyway. It just can't always be done!

Am I wrong for asking my oldest daughter to move out of the condo I own so her younger sister can live there during college?

There are plenty of parents out there, and I will say, this person seems exceptionally kind and open to trying to parent their kids in the best way possible
There are so so so so many parents who never take accountability when they're wrong; they never bother to take their kids' feelings into account, and instead, they only do what matters to them. This parent is doing everything right by asking for parenting advice before actually making this call.
However. People do not agree about this situation at all.

So, what do we all think about this?
My first reaction is that the parent is blindsiding the older sibling by insisting that she get out by August, which is 4-ish months away at time of press. I mean, that's enough time to find something new, but, if you've been living off your parents' money for such a long time, you might not have the ability to just suddenly up and get your own place. Moving costs money, rent costs money, and a lot of places require a down payment or a first-month-last-month kind of deal. Basically, the eldest daughter is going to have to completely renovate her life's circumstances to match her parents' whims.
I also think that if the parent really does do this, they're risking the chance of a major sibling rivalry. The older kid is going to be angry and jealous toward the younger one. She also might accuse her parents of favoritism. It seems like the parents would be opening a big can of worms by doing all this.

This is a good point: the parent is deciding on someone else's living conditions, and they just don't need to make that choice alone
