Sundays aren't just a day for rest and digest; it's really the puurfect day to scroll peaceful cat memes to get a piece of soft serenity before the work week. 

Sundays are made for the introverts, the cozy people, the indolent folk who prefer a movie night in to a party on Friday nights. Sundays are a purrfect allotted day for the liminal rest to catch up on whatever you need to. Maybe you've been putting off vacuuming, maybe you just need to do that grocery run that you've been neglecting, or maybe you need to just lay in bed and stare aimlessly at your phone. The point is that Sundays are soft, and they let us take a deep breath before the chaos of the week begins. Cats are the rulers of rest. They practically invented naps (and the Spanish with their siestas). Cats make us jealous of their lifestyle without even trying, but on Sundays, we don't have to be jealous anymore. We can only envy their ability to be on constant rest mode as they lounge in the sun's halation on the floor for hours, or curl on on the couch the whole day you're struggling away in the office or elsewhere. They just exist in all their commitment to comfort, softness, and coziness.

  • There’s something healing about watching cats on a Sunday. Maybe it’s because they remind us that rest does not need to be earned through exhaustion. Cats don’t justify their naps. They don’t apologize for taking it easy. They simply know, instinctively, that softness and stillness are part of life too. Sometimes we can get so involved with production and  progression that we forget to take a deep breath and just enjoy something. When you scroll through heartwarming kitties like these, your brain starts to follow their lead. The noise quiets down a little. Your shoulders unclench. Suddenly the pressure to optimize every second of the weekend fades into the background while you look at a fluffy orange kitten asleep with its tiny paws over its face.
