'This kitty is going to be big': Couple adopts a tiny Himalayan Ragdoll kitten, but the floofy feline just keeps on growing into an absolute giant

Who knew kittens could get so huge?

When you adopt a kitten, you probably imagine a tiny little head with four even tinier paws that is smaller than a can of soda. Those petite meows, the falling asleep in random places, the hissterically uncoordinated eating… it's all a part of the quintessential kitten expurrience. This is the time that we cherish the most, because believe us, they won't be that small for long, or ever again. But for our family below, that time flew by faster than a cat with zoomies. They adopted a Himalayan ragdoll, who started out as an illegally smol kitten. But then, he started growing, and growing… and growing.

Within five months, he already outgrew their adult cat, and he isn't showing any signs of stopping. They learned that this purrticular breed of cat can get pretty big - much bigger than they expected. Nobody knows how big this kitty is going to end up being, but there is good news: he's purrfectly meme-worthy. He may be big, but he is also dumb, and that's exactly how he's supposed to be.

  • You can't tell us that just by looking at this cat, you wouldn't think that he was a full-grown adult. He's only 5 months old in this picture, and that's purrrre insanity. Imagine all the hair he must shed. Imagine all the hair he will shed. They didn't adopt a cat, they adopted a very fluffy miniature horse. 

    What else can they do at this point except just enjoy his chonkiness? He's not truly chonky, he's just large. And in charge. If it were us, we wouldn't be mad. We love big cats, they feel like tiny dogs, but way better.

    Bandit_the_kat Himalayan Ragdolls get big, around 15-25 pounds for males and around 10-15 pounds for females. so if your adult catto is only like 5 or 8 pounds, it makes sense how the kitten would be bigger. Can we get a banana for scale?

    tishpickle Himalayans are a chonker of a cat. My last one was close to 10kg (22lb) as an adult and made our Siamese look like a kitten due to how fluffy and dense he was.

    ImplementNo2626 I have 2 boys from the same litter and they just turned one, I took them both to the vet today and we always thought there was a weight difference between them, one is MUCH more muscular than the other. Turns out there's a kilo difference between them said it's either genetic or I the vet mentioned he loves to climb and she said just muscle growth
