Door Dasher gets adopted by friendly black cat while dashing, then discovers she's pregnant the next day: 'She immediately just made herself at home'

Are there any additional fees for having a Door Dasher deliver a pregnant stray cat right to your door?

You know what they say: "Fortune favors the bold", and we're pretty sure whoever invented that phrase was talking about stray cats looking for their furrever home. Stray dogs will try to charm you with wagging tails, smiling faces, belly rubs, the whole shebang, but cats? They will simply hop in your car and call it home. Don't even try to tell them no. Firstly, that's an argument you won't win. Secondly, why would you? 

While out delivering some food, a friendly black cat decided the Door Dasher was her new mom, and that was that. You can tell that's exactly what she was looking for because she made herself at home with purrfect ease, loving on her new hooman and enjoying a roof over her head for the first time in her life. All was beautiful and happy, until her mom took her to the vet the next day, and they told her that her new cat child was pregnant.

    I'm living proof that the cat distribution system is real. You can't force it. This little baby hopped in my car yesterday. I was in the middle of dashing and dropped something off at a trailer park. There were a lot of cats around. This cat just walked up to me out of no where wanting all the attention. I loved on her for a bit then I started heading towards my car.

  • There's just something about cats needing homes finding themselves in the care of delivery drivers. Once, we wrote an article about a pizza delivery guy who was given a kitten as a tip. A real baby kitten that was only about 4-weeks-old. As much as we would love to get a kitten that way, the reality of it is that the kitten isn't so much of a tip as it is a 20-year responsibility. Tips are supposed to bring you money, not take them away. However, instead of money, he did get a lifetime of cuteness and a lifelong friend, so it could be worse.

    When I opened the door she walked right up, inspected it a little, then hopped right in. I was absolutely shocked. I got in the car immediately. I checked her out. She clearly has been outside for a while judging by her paw pads. She is even limping. She is so thin I feel her spine and hips when I pet her. I drove away and she absolutely no problem.     my lap PURRING. When I took her from the car to the house, she didn't fight me at all. She don't squirm. She just accepted I'm her mom now. I set up a whole bedroom. She immediately just made herself at home.

    I took her to the vet the next day. I did find out today she is pregnant & They said she acts like someone's cat but definitely looks like a stray. She extremely underweight for being three weeks pregnant. She weighs less than my munchkin cat So I already

    contacted a foster program for the kittens. We are going through the same program to adopt her and spay her. She hasn't tried to leave the bedroom I have her in. In fact she started growling when I took her outside to take her to the vet

  • The good news is that kittens have a tendency to get adopted quickly and easily. Everybody loves kittens! Have you ever met a purrson who doesn't love kittens?

    Exactly.

    So although there may be a small snafu in this bold kitty's adoption story, we have a feeling everything is going to work out just purrfectly. Who knows, they might even fall in love with one of the kittens and keep one of them, too. As long as they go and get her spayed after, we approve!

    jumping through the open door and bounced around the front seats, back seats, and trunk to avoid being caught took a few tries to be able to drive away. We're still reeling from our last CDS delivery, this dude is 25 pounds of fury and is spiritually rabid.
