Let's start the weekend like the wildlings do!

It's Friday night, and we can finally let this past week go. Shake it off like a wild rat, because it's small rodents who shake their heads off the fastest - around 30 times per second. That's way faster than your dog's "head hurricane" they do after getting wet. So once you've shaken everything off, it's time to start the weekend early, with a Friday night party. We're going to party like a raccoon at 2 AM, making questionable choices while embracing our nocturnal, trashy lifestyle. Staying awake despite the black circles around the eyes.

After the grand weekend opening on a Friday night, it's time for a slow Saturday morning - like a calm capybara. They're like the ultimate Saturday morning recovery masters. Capybaras sit in warm water like it's always relaxing bath o'clock, with their eyes half-closed, looking like they're recovering from existence. Even if we wake up at 11:47 AM, we'd still consider a refreshing nap between 2-6 PM. Because Saturday is the day to be as zen as a capybara.

Now that we're all refreshed from a slow Saturday, it's time to make the rest of the weekend count. Why not go on a hike on Sunday? We'll be channeling our inner wolves, because they're the perfect Sunday hike models. Wolves are great walkers, with bodies built for endurance - they can walk 20-30 miles a day, but if prey is scarce, they can even reach 100 miles (160 km) in one day alone. That's big hike inspiration. Wolves are wonderful for a Sunday hike thoughts.

  • What is it really with humanity's fascination with birds? So much so that we build bird feeders for them to come, enjoy, and leave - for us just to observe. Is it their ability to fly? Is it their bright colors? Is it their singy-songy voice that is basically nature's melody? (well, at least it's true some birds… not the ones screaming under your window at 5 AM, waking you up every time).

    Anyway, we can't deny how much we love birds. So see this as a reminder to fill your bird feeder. It's like a gift for both species - birds get to eat yummy food, while we get to watch them. Serotonin guaranteed.
