Animals are the only reason we're okay with not being alone, ever - and that's true for bugs as well. Take the Jumping Spider, for example. We have one in our apartment for the past couple of days, and we're more than happy to call him our roommate. He's a very quiet roommate - no random hour meows like our cat, and no barking at the mailman like our dog. He's so chill. And every once in a while, he'll pop on a wall next to us, like he's saying “hello there”, and then jump away to his next destination. And you want to know the real secret kicker? He actually helps maintain the unwanted bug population around the house to a minimum. He's such a great addition to the household.
Now, we love our princess cat, and we love our doofy dog, and we're never alone thanks to them. But now, it's also thanks to Milhouse - this is how we decided to call our live-in Jumping Spider.

There area ctually many interesting ways to call a roly-poly from all around the world!
In Japan, they're called Dango Mushi, which is already a very cute-sounding name. And to make it even more endearing - it means “dumpling bug”. We can really see the adorable resemblance.
In Brazil, a roly-poly is Tatuzinho De Jardim, which translates from Portuguese as “little armadillo of the garden”. And honestly, that's very true.
In Germany, they are Kellerassel, a “cellar donkey”. Assel is an old word for a small crawling creature, but the image of a tiny donkey lurking in your cellar is unforgettable.
In France, these bugs are Cloporte, which roughly translates to "sow bug / door-closer". It comes from clore (to close) + porte (door) = it closes up like a door when threatened. Very apt!
In some parts of southern England, they're called Cheeselogs, no need for a translation here. The origin is disputed - possibly from the bug's resemblance to a rolled cheese rind, or simply whimsy.
