There are many important times in life that demand that people be exactly on time, or you will face consequences. Like, if you show up to a Broadway show 45 minutes after it starts, you'll be turned away. Or if you hire a babysitter and then stay out 2 hours past when you told them you'd return, you may find yourself out of a babysitter. We all know that any fool who's late to a job interview will not be given a job at all.
Most people recognize when it's important to be on time, even if they're not habitually punctual the rest of the time. It requires effort to be on time, and some folks cannot be bothered.
The thing is, though, when other people's time is on the line, it becomes super disrespectful to dawdle behind. This couple, as this traveler shared in a story below, reminds me of tourists who take cruise vacations and head out for the day to excursions, and are then videoed racing down the pier, desperately trying to get back on the ship before it leaves. The cruise ships will tell you that you must be back by, say 8 PM. They might leave at 9 PM. And if you aren't on the ship by 9, there's just no guaranteeing that the boat will wait around (it almost certainly won't) and you'll be left to face the consequences of your own lateness.
This person has been traveling with their partner, and they're not having a 10/10 time. And it's all because of this one other couple, whose audacity is really something else.

This is enough to leave any traveller steaming!
The couple clearly feels entitled to extra time on their vacation, though I cannot imagine why. Some people are just like that. They think that even though there are rules, the rules don't apply to them.
I'd be so irritated if I was this couple! Especially after hearing that there are now destinations they're going to miss out on thanks to the actions of just 2 people.
Other folks also had sympathy for the travelers:

Like this person said: why isn't that bus slamming the doors and taking off on time, with or without the couple?
I know that some tour services like, literally are not allowed to leave without everyone being on board. So if that's the case, there's not much they can do about it.
In addition, some tour guides rely on tips. So it's in their best interest to make sure everyone has a good time and doesn't get left behind… even if it means catering to the worst-behaved people of the group.

Don't be those late tourists who are sprinting full speed toward the cruise ship!

There must be a clause somewhere that states that these 2 can get left behind!
