Abandoned 8 month old puppy found walking blindly by delivery driver saved and given furever home after no one stepped forward to claim him, dog mom says: ‘He’s already a mamas boy and living a pampered life.’

The reasons as to why people purchase pedigree dogs are far ranging, but often not out of care for the pupper themselves. A point that is front and center in this story of puppy neglect and eventual adoption.

The beginning of this story from Reddit's r/DogDistributionSystem subreddit meets our abandoned puppy walking in a daze. Unable to see properly because of matts so thick and heavy that they not only covered his eyes, but were literally scratching his eyes. It was incredibly lucky that our delivery driver rescuer did not run over the visually-challenged pupper and instead called out to what was very obviously a neglected doggo in need of help.

Thankfully our innocent puppy came along without much convincing and began the process of stealing his hooman's heart, causing her to fall in love with him and give him a furever home with her. A happy ending and a complete correction to the life of a dog who deserved so much better from the get go, and who finally got the life he deserved.

  • Wait, wait, wait, what?! Did this delivery driver just nonchalantly drop that it is a normal occurrence for them to be picking up escaped and abandoned doggos from the street on a regular basis? That is simply not ok. How has our animal control system gotten so desperately depleted that it has fallen upon the shoulders of dedicated dog loving delivery drivers to reunite puppers and their families on a regular basis. So even more so we are delighted that this doggo fell into the care of someone with such experience and passion for doggos. But it is rather curious that such a young and obviously pedigree dog had no identifying information on him.

  • Wow, that time in the kennel must have been so tense for both the puppy and his soon to be dog mom. Can you imagine what that is like as a dog who just got scooped up from the street and given a home for three days, then to be bundled into a tight kennel with tons of other dogs in varying condition. The uncertainty alone must have been harrowing. And while these practices are important and they protect our puppers from harm, there is also something to be said for keeping a dog who is in a compatible foster home with the people and surroundings he has become accustomed to.
